New Sevenstep and HRO Today Research Finds Poor Recruiter Training a Roadblock to Hard-to-Fill and Volume Hiring

Boston, August 27, 2020 – Sevenstep, a global leader in total talent outsourcing solutions, including product offerings for recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) and managed service provider contingent workforce programs (MSP), today announced findings from a new HRO Today study that examined recruiter training programs and gaps in current practices. The study was commissioned by Sevenstep and conducted online by HRO Today among senior-level HR participants in North America, APAC and EMEA.

According to the study, 9 out of 10 HR executives agree that comprehensive recruiter training is essential but less than 20% are satisfied with their own initiatives. The study also found that recruiter training programs have a direct impact on key recruiting metrics like quality of hire, time to fill and retention, the most common metrics TA uses to assess its performance. Study participants nearly universally agreed that candidate satisfaction was the area most impacted by recruiter satisfaction, with hiring manager satisfaction second most often.

In preparation for this vast ramp-up, improving recruiter training will be a necessary step.”

Key themes that emerged from the study included the importance of industry and company-specific training, communicating business goals, the fundamental elements of recruitment training such as individual skills training and the impact of RPO relationships to recruiter training, including access to key tools and technologies.
